I started this weekend by waking up early on Saturday morning so I can get my TABC license; What started out as a very early morning, soon turned into a delightful lunch earning the respects of a new costumer with the utmost devotion and support. Cinnamon[']s Bakery, which is off exit 238A of Interstate 35 in the Lincoln Village shopping center, is a small bakery with a wide range in delectable pastries and mouthwatering sandwich's. Chef Loïc, owner and Chef, has a very heavy french accent that could make you think you were in a genuine French bakery.
It was around two o'clock when I showed up an hour early to my barber's shop and was drained from an extremely boring seminar. From there I was walking around the shopping center and stumbled upon Cinnamons Bakery, a reasonably good place to grab a bite to eat. As I went inside I could feel the warm cozy vibe that a bakery usually sends off, but this bakery was set apart from all the other bakeries. After walking inside I could see the newly employed HEB workers taking a break from their training to eat lunch. I joined the crowed by placing my order with the cashier and I found a separate table anticipating my veggie burger. To my surprise Chef Loïc came out of the kitchen to give free samples of his divine double chocolate cake with chocolate chips to each costumer inside. I tried to stay away from the sweets, but I couldn't turn down a free piece of cake and I'm glad I didn't; the cake was sweet and delicious, to say the least, and his veggie burgers are very tasty. Another surprising act from Chef Loïc was when he came to my table and introduced himself, starting up a conversation about his bakery and the work he put into it. I found out he was indeed French who moved to Austin to start his bakery.
What set this bakery apart from other bakeries was Chef Loïc; his very hospitable personality and his eagerness to meet new costumers, greeting them to his shop. All in all, my experience with Cinnamons Bakery was a delightful one and strongly recommend the drive over there to experience a true French bakery, or forever regret a experience your taste-buds will surely love.
